The last of our easy to use moving checklists.
Here you will find more useful reminders.
- Moving can be difficult but it can be a great chance to
get rid of things that you do not need.
Most people are “pack rats” of some sort. You
can even have a yard sale or donate unwanted clothing, shoes,
and other useable items. Throw away papers that you no longer
need but are piling up.
- Cancel all of your memberships or monthly services. For
example, cable TV, your gym membership, or internet service.
Some require you to let them know a certain amount of time
in advance that you will be cancelling your service or you
will be charged for an extra month.
This may be especially important if you use automatic payments.
- Take down your garage door opener and lock the door manually.
- You need to make changes to anything that has an address
on it. This includes notifying your insurance company. You
may not need to switch companies but they may need to print
you out a new set of cards that reflect your address change.
- If you are flying to your new location make sure you can
bring your pets on the airplane with you or make other advance
arrangements for them to get to their new home!
Moving can be overwhelming but, if you take it one step at
a time, the hard part will be over before you know it. Our
checklists can help with that, just print them out and get
cracking!
